What is Casa Loma?
Casa Loma is one of Toronto’s most iconic and enchanting historic landmarks, a majestic castle in the heart of the city that draws visitors from around the world. Built in 1914, Casa Loma is a treasured piece of Canadian heritage and one of North America's most characteristic castles.
Once the private estate of Canadian financier Sir Henry Pellatt, Casa Loma is a symbol of ambition, architecture, and imagination. Today, it’s one of Toronto’s top tourist attractions and a sought-after venue for events, film productions, and cultural experiences.
A Landmark Steeped in History
Constructed over three years by more than 300 workers, Casa Loma was inspired by the diverse castles of Europe and brought to life with a mosaic of various architectural styles, from Medieval to Gothic Revival. With 98 rooms, secret passageways, grand staircases, and sweeping views of the city, Casa Loma captures the elegance and intrigue of a bygone era.
The estate reflects Sir Henry Pellatt’s vision and determination, a man who played a significant role in bringing hydroelectric power to Ontario. His legacy lives on through this architectural marvel that continues to fascinate visitors of all ages.
A Cultural Hub and Iconic Toronto Destination
Today, Casa Loma is more than just a historic attraction. It’s a living, breathing part of Toronto’s cultural landscape, a venue for immersive experiences, concerts, dining events, seasonal celebrations, and educational programming.
Each year, over 650,000 visitors tour Toronto’s Casa Loma and the historic estate gardens. A perfect backdrop for special occasions, Casa Loma also plays host to over 250 private functions, weddings and special events annually. The unique architecture has also made it a highly sought-after and unique location for film, television and photo shoots.
With over 500,000 square feet of hospitality space, the Liberty Entertainment Group caters to a diverse clientele of upwards of 1.75 million people per year, including A-list celebrities, sports personalities and industry leaders.

A New Chapter Led by Liberty Entertainment Group
